Hello all,
Just a quick questions please. The cable attached to the interior driver's door handle on my 1998 E39 528i has broken - now i have to roll down the window and open the door from the outside... :mad:
I have purchased a replacement cable from BMW (metal cable wrapped in a green plastic) and i would just like to replace it.
I've removed the door panel but it looks like the side impact airbag that's located in the door needs to be removed to give access to where the cable connects to the lock.
Can someone please advise what steps needs to be followed in order to remove / re-fit the airbag? I've read up on disconnecting the battery, keeping the airbag facing up and away and all that but was looking for a bit more specific info if possible and can't find anything on the net specificaly about this.
