Hi, guys~
We are planning to tune our 120d after this financial year..
but I've heard that there are two types of ECU tunning...flash and additional ECU..
Which one's better???

I don't think you could say that a piggy back is the best available otherwise F1 and the likes would be going down that road. You can flash your ECU to get increased power as aftermarket companies work the parameters of the factory tune to get more out of the tune than standard. When you go back to BMW dealer or your BMW specialist for work and if your DME is upgraded then you would lose your tune and would ave to get your ECU reflashed with the tuned file again. The piggy back computer allows the factory signals to be intercepted and modified to adjust the cars settings to increase power. On a diesel it is usually fuel rail pressure that is modified to greater extent. A 120d stock runs at approx 88rwkw and with a tuning box runs at 113rwkw with no adaption. The added benefit is the easy install and removal if necessary, they can be fitted while you wait. You may also wish to try a pedal module on the 120d. Testing on a tuning box for 70,000kms are still showing the car doing 6l/100
Note- yes, i have done them before and yes, they are awesome and yes, i do have them in stock.

Boy you're certainly giving us the hard sell hee hee:D
All jokes aside thanks for your advice, I actually thought that the kw at the fly wheel was approx 25kw and not translated into 25 kw at the wheels.
Nevertheless, if we can squeeze out to get close to 160kw at the flywheel and 420Nm then I will be a happy camper :)
I will contact you a couple of days after financial year looking for a good deal:boogie:
Also is the piggy back from one of the big distributors such as Hartge or AC Schnitzer?
Cheers,
Rei and Curtis
