This should be a great run, great rods and great scenery, it is sad that the scenery is created by such a disaster but shows what Australia is all about.
We, of the 02 register hope all BMWCCV members will enjoy this run, it undoubtedly will be a little different from a Club run but its prime aim is to let people enjoy their cars.
May I add a word of caution, this is a popular track and the local constabulary (Traffic Police) patrol this area very well at the weekends so don't muck up everyone's enjoyment by tangling with police. The speed limits do change continuously until you get to Warburton so just take a little care.

Just a quick question is this cruise open to any bmw. I wouldn't mind taking the M3 through the Spur.
Looks like a great drive and will be my first with the club so would be nice to meet some people and see what we all drive etc.

A thick morning mist whispered its way across Lilydale Lake as the “Ohtooze” cruisers and BMWCCV members gathered in the adjacent carpark. Anticipation intensified to make the pea soup feel thin by comparison as the assembly of fine Beamers grew by the minute.
The Ohtooze crew really had this working to a great plan. Impressive! As we departed the fog strangled and disappeared as if the curtain was being raised at a major theatre show.
Sunny skies and cold air are exhilarating ingredients for a drive on any day. Add a couple of items to the recipe, a machine designed for sheer driving pleasure, a twisting mountain road through a shady forest and that has to be a prize winning recipe for unadulterated enjoyment. The only negative....our recently decimated forest, is fortunately bouncing back to becoming shady again, though it is still a sombre sight.
Can our cruises get better than this? Each drive day is becoming impressively better attended. Great to see some new faces and hope you all enjoyed the day. Apologies if I could not spend more time to chat with everyone. BMWCCV sincerely thank all who drove with the impeccable road manners we expect. Thanks Ula for the great company and superb driving (I felt very comfortable!). Thirty plus Beamers with drivers and passengers had a great social drive day and to top it off, a great lunch at the Black Spur Inn.

was a superb day today thanks to all the people that let me ride with them at one point or another, wasnt great to see what Marysville had become but at the same time was good to see them rebuilding with plenty of help from tourists.

Hi Everyone,

Just want to give a big thumbs up for the event yesterday. It was my first drive day with the club and i was very impressed with the way everything was organized.
It was great to see so many BMW's from the 02's to the new M's etc. It was the first time i had taken the M thru the twisties and definitely wont be the last, whether the wife comes on the next one we'll have to wait and see..lol She got a bit nervous on some of the corners.
As mentioned above it was an eye opener driving thru Marysville but it was great to see so many tourists doing their bit to get the town up and going again.
Lunch at the Black Spur Inn was great and couldn't pass up the Chicken parma which was fantastic!

All in all it was a great day and if this is what is on offer from this great club i shall be attending many more events in the future. :appl:

I did organise a run to coincide... i think it was in 2006 :p
