Thanks to Stwart Garmey for the following event summary

Club owners of 18 cars braved Melbourne’s “Big Wet” to assemble at Brandon Park for the Cavalcade to the Show.

2002s were very much in evidence thanks to Doug Read’s efforts in getting members of the 02 Register to bring their cars out.

There was an eclectic collection of E30s and 5-Series at the start which headed off on a drive around a sodden Mornington Peninsula.

On arrival at the finish at the Hastings Foreshore Reserve, the cars were joined by a small band of hardy souls from the Ford FPV and MG Car Clubs. The rain did not ease off but fortunately there was adequate shelter.

On a transporter were a number cars from the Elfin Heritage Centre which unfortunately stayed there because curator Bill Hemming couldn’t risk removing their covers to unload them in the pouring rain. (The Heritage Centre is a probable future event visit).

Bacon and egg sandwiches from the Scouts and coffee from the truck was the make-do picnic lunch and the cars headed off home in the early afternoon.

A shame for the Macular Foundations’ Charles Rogers who puts so much work into the event, and a big thank you to all our members who did bring out their pride and joy on such a miserable day.

Remember - the next social event is the Club Christmas Lunch on Sunday 06 December, bookings closed on Friday last but late entries will be accepted for a few days. There has been a very positive response to this event. Entries to Stewart Garmey, please.
