The Best 2002 Links the Web has…

This is a simple and basic guide to 02 related sites that will come in handy for all 02 owners and maybe non-02, or aspiring 02 owners. I do not intend to put up every site which mentions the 02, but just the ones worth looking at so you don’t spend your time going through link after link.

Many more links can be found on these various site’s “Links pages” but this is the cream of the crop so to speak.

Restoration, Race, Clubs and Other

These sites are the bibles of the 02 world. The Restoration of Stella is a great start for all those looking to restore an 02. Basically a walk through of a restoration. Warning though, you may spend hours at a time browsing this site.

The 2002 UK site offers a heap of information as well as a nice “Car of the Month” area. If you're after a history of the 02, this is the place to go.

2002 & tii Registry is just that, a registry. Also has a bunch of info on the 02 included parts catalogues, manuals etc. Well worth a look.

Bmw1602.com documents a “Racetoration” and is well worth a look.

www.my2002tii.com – Documenting the restoration of “Stella”
www.bmw2002.co.uk – UK based, great source of 2002 information.
www.2002registry.com – US based site partnered with the tii register also
www.bmw1602.com – A “Racetoration”

Forums:

2002Faq has been the pick of the 02 forums for years now with a large mainly US based user base. The best aspect of this site is by far the information in the archives which can be accessed through the search, and the Project Blog section which details numerous builds. Does not currently require registration to post.

Bimmerforums is a much younger board. Not as many users but still a good little board. Requires registration to post.

Other forums out there tend to be rubbish ie. Roadfly.

www.bmw2002faq.com – Mainly US posters but some international participation. Big user base with a heap of information, especially in the search if you know how to function it (can be a pain in the ass!)

www.bimmerforums.com – Again mainly US. Younger and smaller user base.

Vendors:

I have personally bought from some of these venders but will not put my experiences in this thread. Simply do a search on the bmw2002faq.com forum for many discussions and make the decision yourself.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ - Real OEM – Not a vendor, but get your part numbers here
www.bmw2002.com - Ireland Engineering – US based.
www.jaymic.com - Jaymic – UK based
www.kormanautoworks.com - Korman – US Based
www.racetep.com - TEP – US Based
www.2002haus.com - 2002Haus – US Based
www.2002ad.com - 2002AD – US Based
www.wallothnesch.com - Walloth Nesch – German based.
www.bmw02.de - Cahsel – German based, choice for rare parts.
www.only02.com - Only 02 – RHD 14 Piece carpets among other things.
www.ground-control-store.com - Ground Control – 02 coilover setup. US based.

I will update this thread with more links over time but this is a good start for now:)

Cheers,
Tom
